Dr. John R. Shields

Dr. John R. Shields is a Professor of Agricultural
Economics specializing in government policy and international trade/development.
He received his B.A. Degree in Asian History from San Francisco State University
and has Master's Degrees in International Education and Public Finance Economics
from Michigan State University and the Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from
Michigan State University.
A native of New Jersey, he was raised in Northern California and has lived in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East as a student volunteer and consultant. Persons interested in the Peace Corps should seek his counsel. He joined the CSU, Fresno faculty in 1978. His teaching responsibilities include courses in microeconomic principles, agricultural policy, export marketing, international development, agribusiness research methods and career planning. Dr. Shields is currently in the faculty early retirement program and teaches part time. |
