Biography: Charles Boyer is currently dean of the
College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, California State University,
Fresno. Prior to his position at California State University Fresno, Boyer was
associate dean and associate director of the Agricultural Experiment Station,
professor and head, Department of Horticulture, Oregon State University. At
Pennsylvania State University, Dr. Boyer served as chairman, Intercollege
Graduate Program in Genetics and professor of plant breeding and genetics,
Department of Horticulture.
In addition, Boyer was visiting professor at the Department of Vegetable Crops,
University of Florida, assistant professor of Horticulture, Department of
Horticulture, Rutgers University, postdoctoral scholar, Department of
Biochemistry and Biophysics, University of California, Davis and laboratory
instructor, Department of Biology, Eastern Oregon University.
Dr. Boyer is affiliated with the following societies and professional

Breeders Association, International Society for Plant Molecular Biology,

Boyer earned his BS in biology at Eastern Oregon State College, his MS in
genetics at the Pennsylvania State University and his Ph.D. in 1976 also at the
Pennsylvania State University.
