In the early 1980's a number of endowed student assistantships were
established through the Viticulture and Enology Research Center (VERC) at
California State University, Fresno. The principal earns interest to support
several undergraduate and graduate assistantships. An annual call for applications occurs each
spring. For application information, call the Department of Viticulture

GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIPS—The
Department of Viticulture and Enology at California State University, Fresno
is seeking outstanding candidates for the MS degree in Viticulture and Enology
for research assistantships on a continuous and competitive basis.
Assistantships become available at different times throughout the year and
vary in research areas depending on the availability of funding. Positions may
be available in grapevine water relations, stress and irrigation management,
vine nutrition and vineyard fertilization, table grape varieties and
rootstocks evaluation, wine production technology, packaging, wine
microbiology, and analytical methods for juice and wine components. Interested
candidates should have earned a BS in viticulture, horticulture, plant
science, enology, microbiology, chemistry or a related field. Candidates
should have a GPA of at least 3.0 and top-tier GRE scores.
